Mountain Top Elk Platter
Ingredients
- 1 lb elk steak
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tbsp coarse ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sage
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- butter or oil
Instructions
Tenderize the steak on both sides with a meat mallet, back of a knife or the edge of a plate.
Combine the flour with all of the seasonings in a bowl.
Heat a little butter in a large skillet.
Dredge the steak in the flour mixture and add to the hot oil.
Cook on mediumhigh heat for 4 - 5 minutes or until golden brown. Flip and cook until golden brown. Do not overcook!
Remove to a platter and let rest a couple of minutes.
Serve with your favorite side dishes and enjoy.
